Esstee Timbers (Pty) Ltd supplies bulk meranti timber (sourced from reputable, trusted agents and saw-mills) exclusively to commercial joiners and timber traders throughout Southern Africa, including neighbouring countries.Our ex-yard stock-holding is widely regarded as being the largest quantity of imported Malaysian red-hardwoods available in Southern Africa.
Our stock ranges in size from half-inch (13mm) to 3 inch (76mm) thick and from 3 inch to 12 inch (304mm) wide boards. Lengths vary from shorts (for example 2 ft/0,6m) to very long lengths (21ft/6,3m and longer).
Quality standards available are typically kiln-dried (KD) “standard and better” which includes a quantity of timber sourced from single species batches that is sub-graded as “SS”. SS timber is recommended for joiners who are looking for better colour matching within batches for custom-joinery (where evenness of colour of timber used for stiles/rails and panels is important).
Bulk meranti is sold as bundle-lots ex our yard or, for larger volume requirements, as container-lots direct from the local harbour (unloaded at the port and delivered direct to the customer’s premises). Each of these options has particular advantages in terms of availability and price. Our dedicated bulk meranti sales team will ensure that the best option (or combination of options) is explained and devise a supply solution tailored to suit the customer.
Tailored solutions for larger-volume requirements can also include specified sizes and lengths of engineered and veneered meranti sections commonly used for frames and panels. Here again, our team will devise a supply plan that clarifies cost advantages, quantity specifications and timings issues to accommodate full container lots.
